Attachment armour for excavators

This armour is built as frontal armour according to the new concepts of the Next Generation and is characterised by a greatly increased safety for the driver. All parts of the armour are adapted to the design of the corresponding machine and specially designed for it. This is the only way to ensure maximum safety and functionality.
The armouring meets the requirements of bullet class BR 6 and explosion class ER 4 and thus complies with the new requirements of the current DGUV Information 201-027 (as of March 2020).
Assembly

In all Next Generation armourings, the weight of the armouring is transferred to the mounting plate attached to the underbody via its own cone bearings. This prevents overloading of the original cab bearings and increases safety in the event of an explosion against the cab with armour being torn off the superstructure.
Steel construction

The armour of the Next Generation is manufactured as a folded box section made of 8mm steel. The corners are routed to increase torsional rigidity.
Floor assembly

The floor assembly is edged from 12mm sheet steel and is raised on both sides. It goes without saying that the inspection hatches can be removed.
Right side

The right-hand side is designed in such a way that below the side window all surfaces are clad with 12mm steel.
Next Generation

In the Next Generation, additional 12 mm steel plates are bolted to the frame on both sides, which in turn are elastically connected to the floor assembly with special connecting elements. This makes it possible to effectively divert bending forces of the armour caused by explosion pressure or other impacting parts, such as in demolition accidents, into the floor assembly.
Options in detail

1.Front frame according to the latest DGUV with bullet protection class BR 6S / NS and explosion class ER 4. Base frame made of 8 mm folded sheet steel, which forms a torsion-resistant box profile. As standard, the frame is additionally fastened to the base assembly with conical bearings and six special fastening elements.
2. Closed upper holder with receptacle for the wiper module
3. Weather protection roof with accommodation for up to 6 work lights.
4. Wiper module 12/ 24V top
5. Window cover made of 8mm sheet steel screwed onto the base frame
6. Reinforcement plate on the left made of 12mm sheet steel.
7. Reinforcement plate right made of 12mm sheet steel small version
8. Reinforcement plate made of 12mm steel plate large version
9-11. Floor assembly with inspection panels, folded up at the sides.
